Since 1975, Alaimo Enterprises has been building homes in the Greater Rochester area. To date we can boast over 1000 homes completed, as well as commercial, office and retail space. When you select AEL to build your home we want to make sure we do it right the first time. At the pre-construction meeting we fill out numerous pages of information about your home and we review the construction drawings with you to make sure you understand what the home will look like when it is completed. But it does not end there. We work with you through every phase of the construction process. We are on site and accessible.

The home you are considering could be the largest investment you ever make and it pays to be do research and make your investment in a home that is well constructed. It would take too long to list everything we do to build a safe and solid home so I will touch on just two of the highlights.

Starting with the foundation, we use steel rods that have been set in the concrete footers to reinforce the solid concrete walls. These rods are evenly spaced and tied to the rods that crisscross the poured concrete walls. After construction of the basement walls we install a sprayed on membrane of Graywall to waterproof the walls then install System Platon, a continuous, dimpled wrap, which comes with a 30 Year guarantee against wetness. This process exceeds the standard allowed by National Building Codes.

The next step in construction is to frame the home. The materials selected at this phase are of paramount importance. Most builders are still using dimensional 2x8’s or 2x10’s for floor joist and some are still using 5/8” plywood for the sub floor. AEL has been using the Silent Floor System for several years now and we know this system works. It may cost more but in the end the floors we construct using TJI engineered floor joist and ¾” Edge Gold sub floor are flat, don’t delaminate in wet weather and are squeak free. In fact Weyerhauser guarantees the floors to be free of squeaks. This system also allows us to offer ceramic tile floors, using large tiles that could not be installed evenly over an inferior sub floor. Again we are going beyond what the Code says is acceptable.
